Extension and remodelling of an existing house in the Barons Court conservation area.

A rear extension is proposed extending the kitchen to the rear and providing dining room accommodation to the side. A courtyard space is retained between the
dining room extension and the existing building.


The design approach is to provide a modest extension of high quality that does not detract from the original house. It adopts an appropriate scale subservient to the main house and employs simple pitched forms befitting of the local domestic architecture. The external materials employed subtly differentiate from the existing brick elevations to
ensure that the extension does not imply it was part of the original house. The intention being that the original form of the house remains clearly legible.
